How to ensure lots of time spent in studio

Such felicitous timing

Just when I started thinking to myself, “I could use some dill pickle potato chips, but only chips that are branded after an unfunny comedian."

Sitting in the back yard with the HDR camera app

YouTube autogenerates some more

Altissimo Recordings rereleases a lot of military band recordings as commercial recordings, apparently so that band directors and libraries — who get those recordings free — aren't the only ones who can get those recordings. And if you're not a band director or a library, no recording for you! Until now!

So Altissimo released just yesterday the Marine Band's From the Keyboard CD, with my Sibling Revelry on it. Already today, YouTube has autogenerated little videos from it. So now, and for the second time on YouTube, lookie here.

I'm assured that Altissimo correctly pays royalties as it should.

New air conditioner!

It was so close in the bedroom last night, with more similar nights ahead, that I went right out and got a new air conditioner. First I looked at K-Mart and Ace Hardware, neither of whom have air conditioners for sale. Then I looked online, starting with Hudson Appliance — where we got our fridge, stove, etc. Whose air conditioners start at $1,700. So I hightailed it to Lowe’s near BJ’s, and found a 6,000 BTU air conditioner (perfect for rooms up to 250 square feet, and ours is 240) for less than $200. Putting it together right out of the box was a fairly new thing for me. But there it is, and the seal is not airtight. Hence old socks.

They're not in the dooryard

We have a scrawny-ass lilac bush. Look way, way up.

Boy that was easy

New windows upstairs, which made installing the window unit air conditioner really easy. Note clamp in lower left. Formerly, about eight pairs of socks or underwear filled the gaps. Now there are none. MWA ha ha.
