It was our first CD/cassette boombox, and what it is, too. Maybe this is why Sony is doing so poorly. Their products don't wear out. They don't innovate because everybody's 1990 stuff is still in use.

Purchased October 1990 and still in use
Plus, it spends winters in the unheated side porch. In December 1990 while carrying it, I slipped on the ice at the MacDowell Colony and it fell 6 feet right onto the ice.
