So over in Ithaca they'll be doing a concert, and I'm on it. I'm also around for two days doing Davy stuff.
Sunday night I give my My Life In Jazz lecture. Taken literally, it would last about half a minute. So I'm going the figurative route.
Tuesday I give my shortened Piano Concerto lecture. After which I don't. And by the way, fifteen people have bought the score to that — it costs $126 — and I don't have any.
On the Monday concert Diane Birr, Ithaca faculty, is doing two really hard 'tudes — Strident and Absofunkinlutely (woo hoo!) as well as The Third, Man. The clarinetist and other pianist listed there to the right are also doing Mento — obviously the sequel to Diverti (duh). If you like hearing music based around the musical motive B-E-F-F, well, this is a good start.
Now I just have to get there.
And back.
Now my mantra for the day: Cayuga, Cayuga, Cayuga...
